The best of all badges

As you might have seen on the blog, I am a huge fan of the sinfulsunday flashfiction competition and just fell off my chair when I realised that I actually won last night's installment!

Here is to the story and the best of all badges:

The judge, Lisa, said that 'This story had the right combination of sex without being vulgar, which to me is important with erotica, at least in my opinion.'

New week, new luck

I have been a bad girl and not written much this week. However, due to the valid excuse of housemoving, I don't feel too bad about it and just have to get back into it with a vengeance now! To start off lightly, I thought I'd cover this weeks #sinfulsunday competition, which I actually missed yesterday. Here is the prompt:

This week there is also a word challenge, which is 'wet patch'.Once I am done, you can find the result on the fiction page (as always). Good luck me!

Menage Monday

Reading the headline, your dirty mind might be working the way that my dirty mind was working.

WRONG! (What a tease, I know)

Turns out the term 'menage' in the context of flashfiction actually means 'three word prompt'.

As a result, I felt encouraged to hold back on the smut and come up with something romantic. And a Viking. Here you go.

Thank you twitter!

I am really starting to enjoy the amazing erotic romance community on twitter. Some of these people are real heroes of mine and it is always delicious when they answer your tweets and post amazing stuff!

I also come across the #sinfulsundayflashfiction competition on twitter and really hope to participate again. Writing super shorts (eg 200 words) feels like just the right length for me at the moment. You can now find the hot prompter and my story here. Of course, the other entries are smoking, too, and you can read about them on Rebecca Grace Allen's website.

Having started the very productive tradition of writing a story before lunch, I will endevour to do that again today. I have just got the same amount of time left as yesterday, so that should fit nicely. Keeping my eye out for what audiences want (and eventually would pay for), I want to get better BDSM (and m/m), so riding on the rough sex wave from yesterday's competition, the words

1. stay
2. overcome
3. shady

should fit nicely. Fingers crossed anyway.

Sinful Sunday

After a day of getting involved in twitter and even receiving a 'hello' from my favourite authors, I found something amazing tonight: The Sinful Sunday competition on Rebecca Grace Allen's blog. 100-200 words, inspired by this:

Is that hot, or is that hot?

After mostly writing about foreplay this might be an excellent prompt to get some actual porn writing done. Hold on to your minds while I hold on to my keyboard.

Choice of words

Looking at the long list of e-publishers of the Erotic Readers and Writers Association, I am a little bit at a loss where to start- especially after thinking that self-publishing would really be the better option. Yes, I have a few stories lying around (with two on my site) but none of them seem good enough yet. More practice is much needed!

Somehow I feel like my approach is not quite structured enough though. Maybe I should throw a bunch of kinky words into a hat and then draw out two and write 1,000 words about them? :-) That might be an awesome writing exercise for tonight!
