NaNoWriMo: Week two

After ten days of NanoWriMo I am gobsmacked that I am still sane enough to sit down write a (short) blogpost! I feel like I am reading and writing instead of breathing by now and I actually dream about words coming out of my hands.

At the moment I am only around 1k words ahead of the curve, but at least I am not behind! Writing in advance has been a nightmare, but I am trying to have 2000 new words by the time I go to bed every day.

Yesterday was also an exciting day because I went to Leeds to meet the other lovely people from the #nanoyorks group. All together we are currently the 21st most successful nano group in the world, so it is pretty amazing to have other passionate contenders so close by!

Here's to the next 20 days!!

Thank you twitter!

I am really starting to enjoy the amazing erotic romance community on twitter. Some of these people are real heroes of mine and it is always delicious when they answer your tweets and post amazing stuff!

I also come across the #sinfulsundayflashfiction competition on twitter and really hope to participate again. Writing super shorts (eg 200 words) feels like just the right length for me at the moment. You can now find the hot prompter and my story here. Of course, the other entries are smoking, too, and you can read about them on Rebecca Grace Allen's website.

Having started the very productive tradition of writing a story before lunch, I will endevour to do that again today. I have just got the same amount of time left as yesterday, so that should fit nicely. Keeping my eye out for what audiences want (and eventually would pay for), I want to get better BDSM (and m/m), so riding on the rough sex wave from yesterday's competition, the words

1. stay
2. overcome
3. shady

should fit nicely. Fingers crossed anyway.

Sinful Sunday

After a day of getting involved in twitter and even receiving a 'hello' from my favourite authors, I found something amazing tonight: The Sinful Sunday competition on Rebecca Grace Allen's blog. 100-200 words, inspired by this:

Is that hot, or is that hot?

After mostly writing about foreplay this might be an excellent prompt to get some actual porn writing done. Hold on to your minds while I hold on to my keyboard.

Romance Divas

Hurray, I have just signed up to Romance Divas and really look forward to meeting members of their community in their rather excellent forum. There is even a 'Diva Secrets Workshop' which means that I might be able to find some more likely minded people and friends who can help me along. Fingers crossed my account gets validated by the administrator soon!
